Amsterdam City Farm is a modern tasting room where Indian roots meet creative, vegetable-forward cooking.

Led by Devinder, our menu is inspired by childhood memories and reimagined with a seasonal, sustainable approach—bringing warmth, story, and flavour to every plate.

For dinner, we present four-, five-, and six-course tasting menus, each inspired by the comforting flavours of Devinder’s mum and bibi (granny).

At lunch, we offer a three-, and four-course set tasting menu.

 

About the menu

Every dish is crafted with intention, curiosity, and a deep respect for nature. We reimagine ingredients, flavours, and techniques to create a menu that is both inventive and grounded, with vegetables taking center stage in every dish. Our seasonal menu is constantly evolving, blending contemporary flair with simple yet refined dishes, all while showcasing the bold, familiar flavours of India.

Inspired by the simple, soulful meals Devinder grew up with—food prepared with love by her mum and bibi (granny)—she aims to bring that same warmth and meaning to the table. It’s about creating dishes that stir memories and nourish both the body and the soul. More than just serving food, the intention is to offer guests an experience — one that feels personal, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in love.

Our menu isn’t tied to any one particular region. India is wonderfully diverse, and we embrace that richness, drawing influences from across the country while working closely with the seasons and local produce.

About Devinder

(Head Chef)

I grew up with a deep curiosity for food, always sitting on the kitchen counter, watching my mum and bibi (granny) prepare simple, soulful meals. I loved learning about every ingredient and method, eager to help in any way I could. As I grew older, I found myself in the corporate world, but the love for cooking never left me.

At our Tasting Room & Restaurant, my focus is on bringing the kind of food I grew up eating—the dishes my mum and granny would cook. It’s about taking those comforting childhood flavours and elevating them, giving them a gentle lift while keeping them warm and familiar.

Over the years, Tim and I have traveled extensively, exploring fine dining and different cuisines. That experience sparked the idea of blending the bold, authentic flavours of India with the creativity and elegance of modern dining.

When the opportunity arose to open our own tasting room and restaurant, I decided it was time to leave behind an 18-year career and bring this vision to life. Our menu is built around seasonal vegetables, which is important to us, and we aim to offer food that’s homey, simple, but is served in a more refined way.

 

The founders

Hey there! We’re Devinder & Tim — the duo behind this little Tasting Room & Restaurant of ours. What started as a fun little ginger beer experiment in our home kitchen somehow bubbled (literally) into a full-blown Tasting Room & Restaurant. Who knew fermentation could lead to this?

We always wanted to create a place that felt like stepping into someone’s (very flavourful) living room — warm, welcoming, and just a little bit unexpected. So we rolled up our sleeves, put on our aprons (okay, just Devinder), and poured our hearts into it.

Devinder’s in the kitchen, working her magic and turning childhood food memories into vegetable-packed wonders. Meanwhile, Tim’s your go-to guy for good vibes, great stories, and making sure your glass of wine, cocktail or ginger beer never runs dry.

This place? It’s us. Every corner, every plate, every playlist — it’s a mix of both of us. One of us might be behind the stove and the other behind the bar, but Amsterdam City Farm only works because we’re in it together. It’s a two-person dance — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Basically, we’re just two people who love food, flavour, and making people feel good. And we can’t wait to welcome you in.
